The technology of visible flowing electricity in cables make our power consumption visible in real time with a flowing luminous pulse. When seeing with the naked eye what you consume this way, you become power aware. And we believe that real behavioral change begins with awareness.
How it all started.
We invented the technology of flowing visible electricity in cables to raise awareness around humanity’s electricity consumption. We wanted more people to understand how much electricity is wasted unnecessarily and reduce the consumption of standby electricity.
In light of these thoughts our head engineer Anton Gustafsson came up with a way to make electricity consumption visible. This as a part of a research project at the Interactive Institute (now RISE, Research Institutes of Sweden), a project with the objective to develop technologies that support increased awareness in the area of consumer energy consumption.
He created a unique technology so that you can actually see with the naked eye the electricity you use: The flowing visible power in cables technology - where we see the electricity "flow" through the cable.
On a large scale in society, as well as on the level of the individual home, it is crucial that people learn about different amounts of energy used by the electric products in their everyday life. If this awareness is increased, people might gain control over their own local relationship to this invisible global necessity. Ultimately this will lead users to change their energy behaviours.

Innovation & technology
The flowing visible electricity in cables technology makes the power consumption visible through a luminous current flow. The first product based on this innovative technology was The PAC - a power strip with a power aware cable that showed the user how much attached appliances were consuming.
The technology proved to work excellently and soon TIME Magazine named The PAC one of the world's 50 best innovations. Something we are of course very proud of!
The technology is also used to visualize the flow of electricity in charging cables such as USB-cables. The technology tells the user that charging is ongoing, when it is almost full and when the battery is fully charged.

The visible electricity in cables technology is a Swedish, patented innovation. The technology is patented in Europe and USA, and is owned by PowerAware AB.
Vision
When we can see in real time what we consume, an electricity awareness is created within us. This is exactly where real behavioral changes begin.
The flowing visible electricity in cables technology can be used to design smart products that increase global awareness and enable us to take action - and turn off what we do not use.
